All MSME faculty members are passionate educators. Students are welcome to seek advice from any of their instructors both inside and outside the classroom. To further assist students to navigate through our broad selection of business concentrations and courses, and more importantly, to successfully lead them to graduation in a timely fashion, we have also developed an academic advising system, which monitors the progress every student has made towards graduation every semester and helps him or her prepare an individualized study plan for the coming semester and academic year. The arrangement and operation of academic advising is prepared by the Academic Advising Center.

Objectives of MSME Academic Advising

  • To provide guidance and direction for students with the purpose of leading the students to graduation
  • To help students prepare their study plan by following according to their curriculum for next semester
  • To enhance the relationships between the advisor and students

Every MSME student is assigned to a faculty member as his or her academic advisee since the freshman year. Advising takes place every semester. Students need to make an appointment before the advising period. MSME Academic Advising is organized once a semester as the schedule below:

Appointment period   Last two weeks of March
Academic advising period   April

To complete the advising process, advisees should pursue the following steps:

  1. Check the advisor’s name and office by log in AU Spark
  2. Contact and schedule an appointment with the advisor within the appointment period
  3. Prepare the study plan when meet the advisor
  4. Meet the advisor as the schedule during MSME academic advising period
  5. Get ready for the pre-registration period and the payment period as scheduled by Office of the Registrar

Policy for changing the advisor

Advisee is allowed to change the advisor. According to the policy, advisee must fill in the petition form in advance to request for changing the advisor with an acceptable reason and wait for the approval from Director of MSME Academic Advising. The approval will be effective in the next academic advising period. 

In addition to the assigned advisor, any student is welcome to seek help with respect to academic matters from the Academic Advising Center. A walk-in appointment with the director is also available on Mon 9.00-12.00 and Tue. 9.00-12.00, Second Floor of MSM Building.

Courses MSME student are NOT allowed to take as free elective
